Gingerbread Smoothie

Gingerbread Smoothie | The Blonde Buckeye

I love my Spinach Smoothies, you know that… But I also love to switch it up with seasonal flavors! I ran out of my molasses from last year, then I heard about blackstrap molasses – have you guys heard of it? It actually has a lot of health benefits; Iron, calcium, potassium and magnesium and even more. It has a more pungent taste, but since I love the taste of molasses, it was perfect. Some of you may want to additional sweetener though if it’s to intense. I used it in this Gingerbread Smoothie and it was incredibly good. Not too sweet, not too bitter. The perfect smoothie for fall or winter!

  1. I will be trying this on the weekend, It looks fabulous!
Some time back, I was, past tense, a member of a recipe board when I had a question about the variety of molasses listed in a recipe. The moderator went ballistic, saying that blackstrap molasses was cattle feed! He did NOT know what he was missing! I LOVE it and use no other.
