Description

This recipe for butterscotch brownies is chewy and sweet. This recipe, made with butter and brown sugar, is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. This is one of my favorite desserts of all time!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×13 brownie pan with nonstick cooking spray or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture, mixing until combined.
  4. Remove from the oven after 40-50 minutes. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Cook the brownies without overcooking them. When you take them out of the oven, they may not appear to be fully cooked. Allow them to cool and they will be perfect.

Before mixing, make sure the butter is softened.

Line the pan with parchment paper to make it easier to remove the brownies once they’ve cooled.

These have a chewy texture rather than a cakey one.
