Description
So, as the title suggests, I’m going to show you How To Cook Calamari Rings From Frozen, either by deep-frying (which I’ll show you how to do below) or by baking (which I’ll show you how to do at the bottom of the article).Like many others, I used to believe that calamari was manufactured from octopus when, in fact, calamari is derived from a type of squid
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 pounds squid rings
- 1 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons Old Bay spice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
- 1 cup cornmeal
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
- Then, in a large mixing basin, combine the flour, salt, and pepper.
- In the meantime, fully beat the eggs in a separate basin.
- Combine the bread crumbs, cornmeal, and Old Bay seasoning in a third bowl.
- Dip the squid rings in the flour mixture, then dip them in the eggs, then coat them in the crumb/cornmeal mixture at this step.
- On a baking sheet, put your rings.
- After that, coat your rings with cooking spray and bake them for around 10 minutes.
- After that, turn the rings over and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes.
- You don’t want to overbake them, so be careful.
- Finally
