Description

So, as the title suggests, I’m going to show you How To Cook Calamari Rings From Frozen, either by deep-frying (which I’ll show you how to do below) or by baking (which I’ll show you how to do at the bottom of the article).Like many others, I used to believe that calamari was manufactured from octopus when, in fact, calamari is derived from a type of squid

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 pounds squid rings
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons Old Bay spice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • Then, in a large mixing basin, combine the flour, salt, and pepper.
  • In the meantime, fully beat the eggs in a separate basin.
  • Combine the bread crumbs, cornmeal, and Old Bay seasoning in a third bowl.
  • Dip the squid rings in the flour mixture, then dip them in the eggs, then coat them in the crumb/cornmeal mixture at this step.
  • On a baking sheet, put your rings.
  • After that, coat your rings with cooking spray and bake them for around 10 minutes.
  • After that, turn the rings over and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes.
  • You don’t want to overbake them, so be careful.
  • Finally
