MILK STEAK RECIPE
Fans of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia are likely already familiar with this recipe, but for those who aren’t, the idea of “Milk Steak” may be a little confusing. Charlie’s preferred meal is a steak boiled in milk.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ lbs boneless ribeye or sirloin steak 2 steaks, about 1-inch thick
-
salt and pepper to taste
-
5 garlic cloves minced
-
3 sprigs of rosemary
-
milk
Instructions
Instructions
-
The steaks should be taken out of the fridge.
-
Sprinkle salt, pepper, and minced garlic over the steak. Give the steaks 45 minutes to reach room temperature.
-
Heat up a large, deep skillet. Add milk 2 inches deep.
-
Milk is brought to a boil. Steak that has been seasoning is added.
-
The steaks should boil for 6 minutes per side with the cover on. (Adjust the timing if your steaks are thicker than 1 inch.)
-
For medium-rare, cook them until the internal temperature reaches about 135 F. (Change the doneness and adjust the time.)
-
Steaks should be taken out of the skillet. Give it a few minutes to relax. Add extra pepper and salt to the dish. Serve right away and delight in it!
Notes
Notes
-
To ensure even cooking, the steak must be brought to room temperature in advance.
-
You must add 3 minutes per inch of thickness per side if you use bone-in steak.
-
I advise checking the internal temperature with an instant-read thermometer. It can be inserted through the side of the steak horizontally to reach the thickest area of the middle (Avoid touching the bones).
-
Steak that has been refrigerated will keep for three days.
