Why pick between coffee and tea when you may have both at the same time? This Hong Kong Style Yuanyang Coffee Milk Tea combines the two popular beverages into a delicious drink with a caffeine kick. It’s great hot or cold!
Ingredients

- 1 cup brewed coffee
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tea bag
- 2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)
- ice
- tapioca pearls (optional )
Instructions
- To make the Milk Tea, combine the milk, tea bag, and sugar in a pot over medium heat.
- Stir to dissolve the sugar. Cook until the milk starts to steam.
- Remove the tea bag from the milk tea and place it in a container. Allow to cool to room temperature before placing in the refrigerator to chill.
- Make the coffee and let it cool to room temperature before serving. Keep the salad refrigerated until ready to eat.
- Half-fill a glass with ice.
- Pour the milk tea into the glass first, followed by the coffee. Serve and enjoy right away.
Notes
- To prepare hot coffee milk tea, combine the hot milk tea and coffee in a large mixing bowl. Serve right away.
- To create boba coffee milk tea, bring a medium saucepan of water to a boil. Toss in the tapioca pearls. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender. Before adding ice, add the cooked pearls to the glass.
