Description
Yellow cake that begs to be iced is called sprite cake. Mix up your preferred frosting recipe while it bakes. The outcome is a very moist and spongy cake that you can offer to your loved ones.

- 340 grams unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 600 grams of granulated sugar five big room-temperature eggs
- 375 grams whole wheat flour
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla or lemon extract
- 175 mL Sprite or 7-Up
- 1/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit/160 degrees Celsius. Grease and flour your pan generously. This cake can be baked in both bundt and loaf pans.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until very light and fluffy, about 4 to 5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one by one, pounding vigorously after each addition. Integrate the extract.
- Add a third of the flour and briefly combine. Add half of the Sprite and combine thoroughly. Add a further one-third of the flour, mix, then add the remaining Sprite, mix, and then add the remaining flour and mix until blended. Do not over-blend!
- Pour the batter into the pan you have prepared. 1 hour and 10 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes at 325F/163C. (time depends on size and type of pan.). When a toothpick put into the cake comes out clean and the cake bounces back when gently poked, the cake is done.
- Allow to cool completely before liberally dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
