Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls – Incredibly delicious!
The base for these delicious little cinnamon buns is store-bought bread dough, which takes about 10 minutes to make. You can, of course, make your own dough.
From start to finish, making cinnamon buns in an air fryer takes only 17 minutes!
Puff pastry cinnamon rolls cooked in the air fryer are best eaten immediately away. Any leftovers should be stored in an airtight container and reheated in the microwave.
They’ll just take a few seconds to prepare, but as I previously stated, they’re best consumed soon away.
What you’ll need to make CINNAMON ROLLS
Just one ingredient — a can of Pillsbury Grands cinnamon rolls — and you’re ready to go! Note that this recipe is for baking a 5-count can of Pillsbury Grands in the air fryer.
But if you’ve got an 8-count can of regular-sized Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, I’ve got you covered! Just scroll down to the recipe card for the air fryer cooking time for those.
I haven’t tested this method with other brands, but I would imagine if they’re about the same size as the small Pillsbury rolls, then that method would work for them as well.
You’ll also need an air fryer, of course! I recommend at least a 3-quart air fryer to accommodate the size of the rolls. They’ll be a little snug in a 3-quart air fryer, but they’ll fit. Even better would be a 4-quart Air Fryer like this Ninja model.
WILL CANNED CINNAMON ROLLS RISE?
In my experience, Pillsbury Grands in the air fryer do get a nice rise. They have a lovely domed top and look great draped in cream cheese icing!
Can you use Aluminum Foil or Parchment Paper in the Air Fryer?
In the Air Fryer, aluminum foil is simple to use. If you’re going to use foil for Cinnamon Rolls, I recommend using this air fryer parchment paper.
This parchment paper fits perfectly over the openings in the air fryer, allowing the air to circulate and preventing food from adhering to the bottom.
HOMEMADE AIR FRYER CINNAMON ROLLS FROM SCRATCH
The question is — can you apply this method to a from-scratch recipe? And the answer is yes! As long as the baking time and temperature fits an air fryer and your air fryer is large enough to accommodate the risen rolls, you should be all good.
A good rule of thumb for oven to air fryer conversion is to reduce the baking time by 20% and reduce the temperature by 25-30 degrees.
For example, if you’ve got a batch of my Cinnamon Rolls with Apple Pie Filling ready to bake, you’d cook those for about 20 minutes at 320 degrees in the air fryer. Either way, you can definitely air fry cinnamon rolls from scratch!

How to make these incredible cinnamon rolls
The dough recipe was adapted from a traditional fast bread recipe, but with the addition of additional sweetness. It doesn’t involve any special skills, and it’s so easy to perform that you can’t go wrong.
It’s a little difficult to locate yeast in the store right now. I have some yeast in my refrigerator that has been there for a long time and I’m not sure if it’s still good. Thankfully, this recipe does not require the use of yeast, and there is no need to wait for the dough to rise before baking.
In this recipe, I used a cake pan to hold my cinnamon buns. If you can’t fit a cake pan in your air fryer, make a makeshift cake pan out of aluminum foil. Simply crumple the edges of a square sheet of foil to create a square or circular pan with 1-2′′ edges. The borders of your makeshift cake pan will keep the rolls contained while they cook.
- To achieve consistent baking, preheat the air fryer and use a greased 7-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing basin, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix in the butter with a fork.
- Add the milk and mix well.
- Form a rectangle out of the dough.
- To make the cinnamon filling, combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Edge-to-edge, spread the filling over the dough.
- Form a log out of the rectangle dough.
- Place the log on a 7-inch cake pan and cut it into 6 parts.
- Bake for 10-14 minutes in an air fryer.
- In a mixing dish, combine the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
- Remove the rolls from the air fryer and brush with the glaze.
Tip for success:
- Make sure you dust the counter with a healthy amount of flour before you roll the dough out.
- Use a 7-inch cake pan for this recipe or the pan in this air fryer accessory kit.

Frequently Asked Questions
What temperature do you cook cinnamon rolls in an air fryer?
Preheat the Air Fryer to 360 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius). Use nonstick cooking spray or parchment paper to prepare the Air Fryer basket. In the Air Fryer basket, place the cinnamon roll dough, leaving a little space between each cinnamon roll. To properly cook the cinnamon rolls, set the cooking time to 8 minutes.
Can you put just roll in air fryer?
The pastry sheet should be tightly rolled. Brush the pastry with butter, then cut it into 8 even pieces with a sharp knife. Cook the rolls for 10 minutes in the air fryer basket, or until golden and cooked through. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
How do I make Pillsbury cinnamon rolls better?
Inside, add some extras. Refrigerated cinnamon rolls are simple to unroll and re-roll, allowing you to add additional spices and/or additions to the insides, such as more cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cardamom, or anything else. Add chopped nuts or dark chocolate chunks for a simple treat (or both)

Description
Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls, made with Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, are the greatest cinnamon rolls you can make in the air fryer.
Ingredients
- 1 Can of Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls (8-Count)
- Coconut Oil Cooking Spray
Instructions
- Spray the basket of the Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi with Coconut Oil Cooking Spray.
- Place the cinnamon rolls from the package evenly in the basket.
- Set aside the icing.
- Air Fry the cinnamon rolls for 8 minutes at 360 degrees. (SEE NOTE)
- Due to the fact that all air fryers heat differently, check in on them around 7 minutes to be sure they are cooking well.
- Once done, carefully remove and top with icing.
- Serve
Notes
If the tops are browning well at the 4-5 minute mark, go ahead and carefully flip them over to cook the other side, according to comments. I’ve never had to do this with the Ninja Foodi Air Fryer, but based on responses, it looks that many other air fryers require it.
