- 3 pounds beef chuck roast cut into 2-inch cubes

- 6 cloves garlic minced

- 1 cup red wine
- 4 cups beef broth

- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 large bay leaf
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 teaspoon dried thyme
- salt and pepper to taste

- 1 lb baby potatoes
