How to Store Your Benihana Garlic Butter

Garlic butter should be kept in an airtight container. It will keep the butter fresh and catch all of its qualities while preventing the aroma from spreading around the fridge.

It’s best if you use it within a few days.

Your butter may get gritty just because it is cold in the refrigerator. I like to repair this by adding 1-2 tbsp new whipped butter and whipping it all together again. It will smooth out the butter and repair it.

How To Make Benihana Garlic Butter

1st step

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Cut the tops off the garlic bulbs and arrange them in a muffin tray. Drizzle some oil over the garlic and cover with aluminum foil.
  • 30 minutes to roast the garlic

2nd Step

  • Allow the garlic to cool somewhat before squeezing each clove into a small bowl.
  • Using a fork, mash the garlic until it becomes a paste.
  • In a mixing basin, whisk together the whipped butter. Stir in the garlic paste until everything is well combined.

3rd step

  • Stir in the soy sauce once more.
  • Finally, add the black pepper and whisk for a few seconds.
  • Butter can be served however you like

Needed Tools

Now that we’ve covered all of the components, let’s look at the equipment you’ll need to produce the butter. It’s a rather simple process. You’ll need:

  • A bowl
  • A spatula
  • A container

In terms of a bowl, you’ll need one that’s large enough to hold all of the ingredients while still allowing you to work.

You can use any bowl, although a ceramic or stainless steel bowl is recommended. If you use a plastic bowl, the surface may be a little more difficult to clean after working with butter.

It doesn’t matter what kind of bowl you use; the only thing that matters is how easy it is to clean.

Being airtight is important for two reasons.

  • One reason is that you don’t want any of the butter’s flavor to be lost.
  • I don’t want to contaminate any other items stored in the same fridge.

Which Butter Should I Use?

All you need is unsalted butter, though I used whipped butter for this recipe.

Don’t worry if you don’t have whipped butter or know where to acquire it; it’s quite simple to create.

Simply bring your butter to room temperature (1 cup in this recipe) and add 3 tbsp room temperature milk to make whipped butter. Then use an electric mixer to combine everything.

That’s all there is to it! You’ve completed your whipped butter. It’ll have the same flavor and texture as pre-packaged whipped butter.

Because this recipe also calls for soy sauce, I use unsalted butter. Because soy sauce is already salty, adding more to the butter would overwhelm it.

But if you really want to, you can always add more salt and adjust the seasoning to taste.

What Else Can I Add?

You can add a few drops of lemon juice if you want to have that UMAMI flavor. The lemon juice will provide a good balance and result in a butter that is ideal for seafood.

However, if you use too much lemon juice, it will overpower the butter and you won’t obtain the intended results.

So keep in mind: just a few drops and you’re done!

Description

Benihana garlic butter can be used to enhance the flavor of a variety of meals. I put it on fried rice, pork, beef, and chicken, and on occasion, I even put a bit on pizza.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 garlic bulbs
  • Olive oil for drizzling
  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter, softened (not melted)
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Cut the tops off the bulbs and lay them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Alternatively, you can use a cupcake tray with a garlic bulb in each position. Drizzle the bulbs with olive oil and wrap them in aluminum foil separately (note: cover only the top, and not fully wrap the bulb). 30 minutes of roasting

  • Allow the bulbs to cool after roasting. After that, you can squeeze each clove into a basin.

  • Mash the roasted cloves with a fork until they have a paste-like consistency.

  • Whisk the softened butter in a separate basin. Continue whisking after adding the garlic paste. Finally, stir in the soy sauce and black pepper until thoroughly combined.

Notes

To avoid interfering with the seasoning of the meal in which this butter will be used, this recipe is unsalted. We don’t need to add salt because soy sauce already has a salty flavor.

I’ve been to Chicago twice already, and each time the city continues to astound me. Benihana, a superb Japanese restaurant, is one of the best discoveries I’ve made. With all of the cooks preparing our cuisine right in front of us, we had a wonderful time.

I’ve also had teppanyaki in Japan, and while nothing compares to being in the nation itself, Benihana provides guests in the United States with a dining experience that is as near to the original as possible.

I recently learned that our favorite Chicago branch has started providing lunches and care packages to local hospital doctors, nurses, and other medical staff.
